Last Days of Winter - (a little late but still, in many places, winter is real)

Last Days of Winter

Looking unfalteringly outside the frosty window, I see the chilly wind swirl the loose and fallen leaves on the ground making a nest or cover for small animals exposed to the nippy air
I see the bleak and naked trees shake their exposed and bare limbs against the cold cold wind, I sense the day's end is fading quickly and darkness will soon fall
The full moon rising and also reaching the end of its retrograde journey of winter, we sigh with relief as I brave the night’s darkness, sitting by the glowing fire and relaxing a bit after an exhausting workout of life's burdens and expectations
A radiant fire, the fresh aroma of coffee, wine or other sorts of comforts and the warmth of loving companionship nearby me, to bring this day to a rewarding end

These kind of moments, bring my emotions to the highest, as I watch the sunset and quickly fade into the West as small particles of ice and snow lay solidly on the rose’s stem as the wind passes them by and keeps them firmly on the thorns to survive
Making sure the doors and windows are closed up tight, while grabbing a blanket to just sit by the fire and rest and taking in each pleasure of love and life
For to love this well enough to sacrifice other pleasures, to live like this is professed to be my bliss, something I pray I will never miss for  it would ruin my moments of the past to see the darkness take away the light even when the night is dim and black
That the blowing wind, the yellowed leaves and the shaking trees have brought an awareness into my soul and eyes through the love that surrounds me so closely after a hectic winter day of flak and hassles
